Great bagel! Ordered the everything bagel, toasted, with chive cream cheese and there was plenty of cream cheese on it :) They have loads of options for flavors and toppings and even make breakfast sandwiches. Their coffee comes out of a self-service machine on the side of the main room but it was decent. I would highly recommend this place!
PROS: Bagels are big & high quality, workers are friendly, space is open (nice when waiting for your order # to be called), location is ideal, lots of sandwich options (condiments, toppings etc), array of bottled drinks and fountain drink machine.
NEUTRAL:
—Wait time for basic bagels (15 minutes for 4 sliced, but un-toasted bagels, only one with cream cheese). The line was deceptively short! Only waited 3 minutes to give my order, but 15 more to hear my order # called.
—Pricing - $1.50 for a bagel, plus $3.60 to add cream cheese, $2.50 to add butter, $2 to add bacon. They load the cream cheese on, though! And bagels are giant.
CONS
—very limited options by late morning. I went Saturday at 11 AM, and around half of the bagels were gone. No everything, whole wheat everything, plain, pumpernickel, and 6 other types, with 3 hours left before they close. I expected a wait for fresh everything bagels to be made, but I was surprised (along with the two customers ahead of me) to hear the cashier say they were out for the day. Of course, there is a rush of early birds in bagel shops, so this might be expected.
—wait time for speciality bagels (I.e egg, bacon, sandwiches seemed long. People were there before me and there after I left (about 20 mins total) for heated items
Every bakery seems to have its own version of what a bagel should look and taste like. I think Bethesda Bagels are among the best. They're larger than average, with generous toppings and crispy on the outside and nice and soft inside. Perfect with a schmear of any flavor cream cheese.
